"

And another one:

" Through this simple fun and engaging games we learn to have good communication skills, team spirit, the spirit of encouraging, the never say die attitude and keeping a cool head. As there a saying , your ATTITUDE determines your ALTITUDE. This is the last night and our team would like to take the oppurtunity to thanks the YoReCa camp coordinators, trainers, NACLI, the MICA, People's Association for giving us the chance to attend this very enriching and meaningful camp. "

And another:

" DINNER. Last dinner (sob sob) [k I made it sound so sad right?]. As usual, it's delicious. What to expect? We're in a camp with cool and hip and PRETTEH instructors right? Can't help it so the chefs also very good standard, cook until Skunk said that the vegetarian food here was the SECOND BESTEST, other than his mum.

No wash up though, cos we had VOLLEYBALL! The edited version.
Apparently, sadly, yes sadly, we lost. BUT!!!!!! We lose with fun, teamwork and had a lot of FUN! Oh yes, then we all decided toplay soccer and all aim for skunk. He has to block (he's the goal keeper mah!) and man was he good at it. I mean, two balls at a time and able to defend it off? WOW. So, being the very lovely teammates, we improved his skills by shooting ALL four balls TOGETHER. He, managed to catch one and struggled with the rest. ><

*yawn* We're now discussing for our presentations tomorrow and most of us showered (smell much better) and some are going to crash soon, so ciao~

Don't sleep too late readers.
Goodnight. days.
The food, accomodation, games and activities were top notch.
My first impression of the camp was:
Damn, so many lectures and countless field trips to various boring places, such as Tuas Checkpoint, SCDF Branch, Home Team Academy, SBS Transit Depot etc, and I felt that I was surely not going to enjoy such kind of camp but how wrong I was.
I had good food (well, defintely better than the average camping standard), and good accomodation.
The games were one-of-a-kind.
Most of all, I got to know many people from 30 over schools.
It was an emotional final day for most of us.
There were tears, hugs, speeches...
I'm lazy to write even a summary for this.
There were just too 2008 have been snapped up by them.
IN A SPACE OF LESS THAN A WEEK.
Namely, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Put it in Sing dollars and the price for the two of them is S$408 million.
Not forgetting the contract that they signed.
Ronaldo will earn S$ 1.67 million a week in the year 2015.<br has Real Madrid's opponents grumbling the team is trying to buy a championship, economists warning of ruin and complaints that the club's US$223 million moves this week are <span Kaka and a stratospheric US$131 million promised to Manchester United for Ronaldo — were the first moves made by Real Madrid's new president Florentino Perez.

Perez made a name for himself with similarly eye-popping transfers during a previous stint as head of />Well, leisure enough for a SCOUT camping standard.
Made lots of new friends as well.
I will be posting about this really soon, if not long.

The accommodation contrast between the first and last night was significant.
Compare an insect-infested cabin located right inside the humid rainforest and a 4-star hotel in the heart of the city.
Yup, that is what I am talking about.

Alright, came back not too long ago, and just managed to catch some tennis action.
That's right.
pwned

Just woken up. So whatever that I'm saying here might not make some sense.

Alright, I'll be away for 6 days (until Sunday evening) for a Scout Camp at Sarawak.
As such, no smsing or calling me by phone.
I will be leaving in 2 hours time.

Shall elaborate on the past two days.

Most of my Sunday was spent with Mitchell, Rio, Que and Noel.
Proceeded there with Rio via 171.
On our way to the Cineplex, we took pictures with ambassadors of the Rockin' without Smokin' campaign.
And shared messages with people who smoke on this large piece of cloth.
Subsequently, we met the other three.
We watched Monsters vs Aliens in 3D at Cathay Cineplex.
A memorable experience.
Rio wanted to sneak out with the pair of 3D shades, but of course, he failed.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, there was the anti-theft tag installed.
We then proceeded to Plaza Sing for dinner at Long John's.
Got owned by them there.

The story:
I found my wallet to big to be fit inside my pocket, so I left it on the bench, between Rio and I.
Minutes later, I couldn't find it. So I suspected Rio.
He denied and tried finding it for me.
Mitchell suggested that I approach one of the staff to see if they had spotted it.
I didn't, and instead gave up, thinking it was definitely either of them who had stolen it.
So I waited.
Again, Mitchell insisted that I talk to one of their staff.
I reluctantly followed his instructions.
Of course, the cleaner denied.
I went back to my seat, and Rio told me I was stepping on it.
PWNED
And so, I picked it up.
Yup, so this was how it went.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

We moved on to a little gig, and watched several bands perform.
Returned home with Rio via 171 after that.

Monday was mostly spent lazing around at home.
Went for my first A-Math tuition in the evening.
Who would have known.
Isaac, Zhan Ming and Amir was in there too!
The teacher, Mr Choo was vulgar by teachers' standards.
'Shit happens'
'What the hell'
'Stupid teachers would...'
and so on...
I need to attend more of his lessons to see if it will be effective.
Hopefully, it will.
My A-Math seriously needs some bucking up.

And this is it.
It's goodbye for now.

mundane is the word

MANCHESTER UNITED WINS THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE

Due to the rants from people, especially those from Noel and Rio (just look at the Tagboard), I guess it is right of me to have a new post.
Damn, how lazy was I to update my blog.
I could not simply make myself update this blog on a regular basis.
For this, I admire Mitchell' and Rio's ability to do so.
Shall write up on the past two days, and a bit of today.

-FRIDAY
Physics Paper 1 was (really) easy. It should hopefully cover for the marks lost in Paper 2, which was a total disaster. Rumour has it that 21/40 people failed that particular paper. Fingers crossed...

Then came the final paper of the mid-years. What else, the MT LC! Many people were telling me they cheated, how dumb could the invigilatiors get.

After school came a little bit of soccer, the first time I was playing it in weeks. Teamed up with Chester, Jong Fei and Munir, and faced Darrel, Jeff, Noel and Bao. Won the match, scored a few goals, most of which were one-on-ones.

Proceeded back to school after that, for an Exco meeting. Talked about plans for the later half of the year.

Went to Sean's house with Mitchell.
Played a few rounds of FIFA09.
Scores against Mitchell were a 2-1 win and a 3-1 loss.
Scores against Sean were 2 consecutive 2-1 wins and a 3-2 win.
Scores against Jeff were a 2-1 and a 2-0 win.
Too bad Rio didn't want to come. I'd be happy to face off with him, something which hasn't already been done for months.
After FIFA came Halo 3. Again, I sucked (as always) on the first round, having only 7 kills, a far cry compared to Sean's match-winning 25.

Yes, that's about it for Friday.

-SATURDAY

In a nutshell, Saturday was one of the most mundane days I had this year (yet).
Woke up late in the morning, something I had to treasure as it was one of the very handful of Saturdays I could wake up late, due to Scout meetings.
Played FIFA09 on the PC the whole afternoon.
Then watched some no-life videos on YouTube.
A real pity I couldn't catch the Man Utd-Arsenal encounter as I had to go to my Grandpa's house.
It was a game without sparks anyway.
Nonetheless, I managed to catch the last 15minutes of the game.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS ON CAPTURING THE 18TH TITLE.

-TODAY

Went for service with Dexun and Dennis at Expo.
The Reverend from Korea, a special guest, preached an elightening message on intercession. Can't wait to attend the following service.

Here am I, now, back home, typing all these out.
I'm waiting to watch the match between Federer and Nadal in the Madrid Open.

nostalgia

Man, how awesome was the Sec 3 camp. Thanks a lot for sailing under direct sunlight for 3 hours. I didn't even apply sunblock. Fine, I asked for it myself. Well, hopefully, the skin won't tear.

Went to Noel's house yesterday. Spammed Fifa08 (not 09) with another guy whose name I'd already forgotten. Stayed till 10. Cool huh. I don't usually dwell for so long unless I'm sleeping over. This doesn't apply to Rio's house though. :D

Before that, I played a little bit of soccer. Preceding that I had the ex-co interview. Was being sprayed with loads of questions. Pretty fun interacting with the teachers. I wasn't in a serious mood at all, and I guess most of the words I'd mentioned were crap, frankly speaking. Time will tell what post I will attain.

Sec 3 camp begins on Monday. Speaking of which, I'm SO stricken by the fact that THERE WILL BE NO OBS FOR US THIS YEAR. Screw whoever who had all these planned. No, that doesn't interest you. How about this:
Mitchell's house is where I'll go during the afternoon. What for? He's holding a "Fifa09 League" strictly for Pros at his home. Yup. Pros. That includes himself, Rio, Sean and I. Go read all about it in his blog. Needless to say, we're definitely gonna have one hell of a time over there.
Awaiting with BATED BREATH! Gahh!!!!!

Oh yes. I guess all of you have heard. Manchester United got owned big time by Liverpool 4-1 at their own stadium. One of their key defenders, Vidic was inevitably the villian in this unthinkable story. He was sent off after being red-carded, and was the one to blame for TWO of Liverpool's 4 goals. I smell a rat...

my 15th birthday

I'm really thankful and tremendously grateful to ALL who have wished me a very Happy 15th Birthday, and have given me presents (or will be giving me).
You guys have definitely made my day. And I doubt I will be travelling overseas. I will also view it as an opportunity to prepare for Sec 3.
Fortunately or unfortunately, I won't have a lot of freedom.

These three will occupy some of my holidaying time.
Movies (there'll be a number of blockbusters coming up).
Soccer (at SP, a chance to sharpen my skills).
Games (such as Rio's, Sean's and Noel's house; including no-lifeing at home).

Besides that, the higher priority matters.
Scouting and Prefect events, activities and camps (there'll be a whole bunch).
They will occupy more of my holidaying time.

And on top of that, cell group and services.
I cannot afford to backslide anymore. However, and so so unfortunately, things have changed.
In fact, everything related to blogging has changed, undoubtedly.
My attitude, my desires...
This hasn't been the first time anyway. Or is it?
Anyhow, the feeling's much worse than ever before. You may agree with that...

Haha... one bunch of crap just emerged out of nothingness. Right?
Look's like I should blog after all. What do you suggest?
Has the motivation just prevailed?
Maybe... but maybe not... or maybe after all...
But why is it that sometimes, at the wrong times, I'm just simply so overcome with laziness?
So many things that could have been typed, right here... but I just... transform into an indolent creature without notice, at the wrong times.
Great... I've just written more crap...
Now, is this suppose to be a 'good' thing, or 'bad'?

Hoho... those words must have been crappy, for real. Never ever been like that before.
Jokes aside, a lot of things have been happening.
The results of the concurrent term, loads of Scout, and Prefect matters, indiscipline... the list doesn't end.
But again, the motivation JUST isn't there for me to pen them down as the days go by!
Blogging isn't an essence, and it shall not, in any thinkable or imaginable manner, be treated that way.
So... why should I be continuing? =O

too many things...

I guess the title says it all. type='text'>tougher times lie ahead

Never had I thought that abandoning my blog for slightly over a month, can actually happen, and at the weirdest of times as well. Who said people can't go on a hiatus?

Ever since the 7th of June (the last time I posted), there was a flurry of events. Unfortunately, I lack a super-memory to recall everything. Notwithstanding, one fine highlight would be the Patrol Leader Training Camp from the 14th-17th of June. Learned countless hilarious cheers there. I could have easily written a 1000-word essay on it, but again, I've no super-memory. Another prominent feature would undoubtedly be the Inspiration concert. It was nothing short of amazing.

So many things could have been said, but my laziness got the better of me. Anyway, nothing produced sparks today. Life's been rather mundane these days... and most especially when school ends. Choices can be harder to make than you think.

On the bright side, there still are things to look forward to. An extremely appropriate example would be the 6 tests that will befall us next week. Or more realistically, the Astronomy course tomorrow, and man, how long I have been waiting for this!

There is also the Games Day at SJI next Saturday, and on the following day, the MagicBox concert. If you have no inkling at all of what this actually is, it is more than just a magic performance, it probably involve illusions as well. The ticket I got was complimentary. I will be looking forward to this the same as I was towards the Dim Sum Dollies.

There's more, like the Prefects' Camp from the 1st to 3rd of August. We would inevitably be introduced to our newly-appointed Sec 1 Prefects... There will still be one more camp before Term 4, and that's the 23 Eagles Annual Camp, Scouts-related. It won't be soon before the dreaded exams arrive, and I've got to perform at my very best of standards to ensure that I get to the class I want. And after that, it all revolves around one word, camping. Just to list a few Scout camps, the Endurance Camp, and the National Patrol Camp.

I guess I'm done for this post, the next time you'll see me post again would certainly not be long, that is what I can disclose. It's bye for now.

scouting trip to malaysia

Greetings! After so many days, I'm back to report on my camp! From there, we headed for Jeram Besu, albeit with intermittent stops made. Our first stop was Yong Peng, where we had our breakfast. Then, we proceeded to an overhead bridge for lunch. Next, we had a final toilet break at a petrol kiosk, before moving on to our eventual campsite in Jeram Besu. During the bus ride, there was loads of entertainment, which included singing of songs and sharing of jokes. When we had finally arrived at the Countryview Recreational Park, we pitched our tents. After that, we were brought around the compound in the hope that we would familiarize ourselves. The following highlights include, a buffet dinner, practicing of games, and a Night Confidence Walk. Three people were interviewed after the walk. Finally, we all had a little tussle with the insects inhabiting our tents before taking our showers, and turning in.

31st May 2008

The Tekam Plantation Resort was our first destination of the day. To our utter disarray, it was not the harvest season. As such, we were introduced to their oil and rubber plantations instead. In addition, we also went by cocoa trees with unparalleled potentials of producing quality chocolates, and a beautiful orchard which includes a stunning plethora of fruits. Our next stop was lunch with the local Malaysian scouts at Kem Tengku Mahkota. Subsequently, we were brought to Gunung Senyum, where we explored a cave. In the evening, we had dinner and window-shopped at a night market. Then, we had an entertaining bus ride back to our campsite. A lot of songs were sung. All of us enjoyed fruits such as durians, rambutans and bananas when we returned. When we were back to our tent area, we realized, in sheer horror that the number of ants which attacked our respective tents since the previous night seemed to swell. It took us quite a while before we were in our slumber.

1st June 2008

When breakfast had ended, we were introduced to a ranger, who would lead us in a cave, named Gua Keci by the local villagers. He then shared with us all he knew about caves, and undoubtedly, everyone had learnt something. We crawled through a narrow tunnel and climbed a slippery slope. Next, we experienced 4-wheel driving in the form of jeeps. It was a first time for most of the people. The ride to the waterfall high up in the mountains was rocky and bumpy. Along the way, we had to dodge several vines and tree branches that were within our sight. Lunch was at the Berembun Waterfall. Activities like dipping in the chilly waters and taking numerous camera shots ensued. Finally, we were back to the 4-wheel drive centre. When we were back to our campsite, we dismantled our tents, abandoned our tent area, and moved to the dormitories. We had a buffet dinner afterwards. Next, a campfire rounded off our day. It was not only entertaining, but also an intriguing one which we will always remember. Our day ended when we settled down in our cozy little beds in our dormitory.

2nd June 2008

In the morning, we bid farewell to our campsite. We proceeded straight to Genting Highlands, with a stop at the foot of the mountains. It took us approximately 2 hours for our arrival upon the Genting Theme Park, and the most distinct evidence was an impetuous drop in atmospheric temperature, and much fogging. Lunch was at a fast-food restaurant. The attractions we tried include the Corkscrew roller coaster, Space Shooter, The Viking, and a Go-Kart circuit. There were also other exciting attractions we experienced. By evening, we had to depart from Genting to Kuala Lumpur, albeit with much reluctance. It was without a doubt the most distinguished highlight of the entire camp. When we arrived in Kuala Lumpur, we checked into Radius International Hotel. After settling down and unpacking our belongings, a few people went to have dinner at KFC, while the rest who already had theirs at Genting continued to stay in their rooms. The few who went out for dinner gallivanted at a convenience store next. A lot of tidbits were bought, and obviously, they were enough to feed us for the two nights we were to stay in the hotel.

3rd June 2008

Breakfast was at a café located in the hotel. Most of the day was spent in the shopping districts of Kuala Lumpur. Our first destination was Istana Negara, where we took a few group photos. After that, we were brought to Cocoa Boutique, and as the name suggest, are a shop where delectable chocolates are sold. While on our way to the next destination, we went by the Petronas Twin Towers, the KL Menera Tower, and the KLCC. A photo-taking session ensued when we stopped at a pathway near a traffic junction. Next, we spent an hour at Sungei Wang Shopping Mall. It was also the location we had lunch. Subsequently, we proceeded to Times Square via the KL Monorail. Finally, we returned to our hotels before setting off for Firefly Park Resort. This only applied to the boys for the girls preferred to shop. The journey took 2 hours. Dinner was held at a seafood restaurant. After that, we queued up for our firefly boat ride. Unfortunately, it began to pour. The boat ride was cancelled and we proceeded back to our hotel. Back in our hotel rooms, we celebrated Davin’s and Wendy’s birthday.

4th June 2008

After breakfast and hasty packing, we checked out of Radius International Hotel and proceeded to Malacca. Our first stop of the day was Merdeka Pahlawan, an extravagant shopping complex where designer goods are sold. After spending 2 hours window-shopping, we advanced to a Nyonya restaurant for lunch. Next, we moved on to Tan Kim Hock Product Centre, a store where local food products are sold. With loaded shopping bags, we departed from Malacca to Singapore. We concluded our trip with a toilet break in Yong Peng, before progressing to the customs.

hillsong concert

Brilliant. Amazing. Powerful. These three words say everything about the concert. Electrifying instruments, full of all the vibrations caused by the bass, and the loud cheers by the audience are what contributed to such a wonderful atmosphere. Probably one of the most memorable concerts I have ever attended. And undoubtedly, the Holy Spirit was present.

How enthusiastic I was... There was jumping, shouting, and loads of singing. There was this guy, standing behind me, singing and shouting like crazy. People thought he was retarded and insane or something.

Definitely, I'd like to catch them Live again! Pathetic. Freaky. The 3 words I'd use to describe my mid-year results.

Both my Math and Science failed to get A's. However, I'm pretty satisfied with my Math in SA1; got 76, after all the pathetic tests in CA1. As for the other subjects, such as Home Economics, Geography, Literature and History, I attained A1's for all of them. What I can say to myself is keep it up but at the meantime, aim higher. As for Chinese, I merely passed. Art, a tad lacklustre. I got 69 for that. And for English, pretty lousy. A paltry 63 was what I attained.

One more thing, I got a GOOD for conduct. What crap is this?! The comments read," Yu Sim is a pleasant and likable student who recognizes the need for self-improvement and seeks different ways to do so. He sets targets and displays a spirit of excellence in his school work. He must keep it up." Contrasting much...

New entries in the top 10 appeared, they are namely, Joshua and Jia Hui. 14th in class is definitely what I don't want to get. Got to reduce the time I spend on soccer and online now.

Also, I got to ignore the deficit I have to overcome, and focus on catching up with the people in the front line.

Keep the faith in myself and may history repeat itself.

malacca trip

Two days... definitely insufficient! Nonetheless, everyone enjoyed this trip.

First day:

Woke up at 3.40am when I was supposed to at 2.45. But still managed to catch the second half of the match. The match was already held at 1-1. But I guess I don't have to repeat what I've said on my previous post. I left home at 6.20, managed to be in school before 6.45. At school, the teachers did some administrative matters, and left at 7.45. We arrived at the Second Link at approximately 8.15, then proceeded to Malaysia! After we all have cleared the Singapore customs, we met up with our tour guide, who called himself Bob...

We stopped over at Yong Peng, and bought some tidbits. It was already 10.30 then. Then, we had our lunch at a country club. I had already been there before, on my P6 Malacca Trip. We then proceeded to Pay Fong High. Not very fruitful. Had to perform the Honky Tonk Stomp. The tour around the school was not very enjoyable either. The host couldn't speak fluent English, and we all giggled behind his back. After the distribution of food and more performances from them, we left for dinner, after we were told that the hotel rooms weren't ready. The water served at the 'Dragon Restaurant' tasted like tap water with Chlorine. Friggin' hell... However though, the dishes were probably the best for that day, better than lunch. After that, we headed for Equatorial!

After the briefing held at the place we were to have our breakfast the next day, we rushed to our rooms. To our dismay, there were only 2 beds. But we didn't care, then. Joshua, Norman and I unpacked our stuff without hesitation. I then visited several rooms, literally running around the hotel like nobody's business. Glen and company were drinking beer, and there was chaos in their room. And that applied to 2/5 as well. Mitchell and Noel waited downstairs for another key after Noel inserted two keys on the power slot. Dumb. De Xun and Zhi Wen were watching Discovery Channel. Darrel and Chelston were doing don't know what. Munir and Vincent were crapping around. Jeff and Benedict were roaming around the hotel. Plus, lots and lots more...

Returned to my room, and were greeted by several 'outsiders'. Norman spent quite a while in the bathtub, and dropped his phone beneath the waters. A good thing Sean was able to repair it in the end. Then, I took a mere 25 minutes to bathe and shower, and had some snacks after that. Not long after, I went out again. Several teachers caught me including Ms Chong and Ms Lai, but they didn't lecture me or anything. But Mr Yee did, on one occasion, when it was past midnight. My mischief hadn't ended, I sneaked to Mitchell's room to see what was happening. A lot of people were ordering food and spamming the room service. I didn't. Then I came by this leftover chocolate ice-cream cake which was previously bought by Ms Chong. Not bad. It wasn't long before I brought this huge box to my room. Indulging on sin, as Norman said...

Quite a while later, I proceeded to Room 902. There was absolute chaos. There were around 15 people squeezing in that room, and there were constant scares of teachers checking on us, but that never happened. It wasn't until 1.45am that we scrammed. Loads of fun. After that, I was finally running out on energy. Fatigued overwhelmed me, and I soon laid flat on the floor. Sleeping on the floor wasn't so bad actually.

Second day:

Was last to wake up. 7.15am. Miraculously, I only took 10 minutes to finish tidying, clearing up all the uncleared mess, and packing my own stuff. Proceeded down for breakfast. Good enough.
When it was time to depart the hotel, there was a strong feeling of reluctance. But it was time to move along anyway. Then, we proceeded to St. John's Hill, Portuguese Square, and a fort. All that searing heat is infuriating. After that, we visited a village. Boring. Next, we went to have lunch. The food sucked. Finally, we were brought to a shop, where we can purchase all the Malacca goods. Eventually, we would arrive back in Singapore, but preceding that is the one and only stopover. Before the stopover, everyone had their eyes closed, but after that everyone were getting chaotic. Nothing much happened after we cleared all the customs. At the end of the day, we bid farewell to a ever-so-enjoyable-trip, though it could have been a lot longer.

Done with my report. I apologize if you think this post ended abruptly.

champions of europe!

MANCHESTER UNITED HAS JUST WON THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!

Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea (Man Utd win 6-5 on penalties after extra-time)

It was an ultimate match. Ronaldo scored in the 26th minute and Lampard equalised on the stroke of half-time. Drogba was sent off late in extra-time. On the penalties, Tevez, Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson, Giggs and Nani converted their penalties for Man Utd, except for Cristiano Ronaldo. On the Chelsea side, Ballack, Belletti, Cole, Kalou and Lampard converted theirs. However, and dramatically, Terry, who miraculously saved Giggs goal bound shot towards an open goal, had his own penalty shot slam the bar. Chelsea could have had sealed their first ever European title if he had scored. How terrorising for the Chelsea fans! In addition, Anelka had his penalty punched away by van der Sar, the undoubted hero, who smartly performed some mind-boggling antics while he was preparing for his penalty, with which he was successful! United clinched their highly-coveted third European title as such. That explains everything...

Now, I'm all prepared for the Malacca trip, in high spirits!

precedence

In contrast to yesterday, today was pretty unique. There was a Character Development Programme talk, and indeed, I'm sure many people have learnt new things about themselves.

Before recess, we were required to do a so-called MBTI test, which came in the form of multiple-choice questions. They reveal our inner personality. And at the end of each two columns full of our selections, we had to compare to see which letter we actually are. Like for instance, in column one, you have 10 points, and on the other, you have 12 points, and judging from these two, we select the latter.

There were eight columns, and out of these, four letters are to be chosen. I was an 'INTJ', of which, according to what I have written, 'Conceptualizer Director, Logical Visionary'. There were 16 unique combinations, and each is unique in their own way.

What proceeded afterwards was soccer. I played generally well, but inconsistently. I don't wish to elaborate.

By the way, the Malacca trip is less than 30 hours away! Preceding that is the Final! Bated breaths...

harrowing experience

An unforgettable day, shall we say?

It was yet another ordinary day for me, and Mitchell, Noel, Joshua, Jong Fei and I wanted to watch Ironman at Vivo. We did.

We all met at Challenger, and played Fifa Street 3. At the meantime, I bought tickets. And after buying those tickets, we proceeded to Burger King for dinner. It took us quite a while before we finally settled down. It only took us a mere 15 minutes to finish our food, then came the fateful incident. When we arrived at Golden Village after a long stroll, a terrifying thought crossed my mind... I had left the five movie tickets on the table we had our food.

OH DEAR! The distance between Burger King and GV isn't short. And we have already spent more than five minutes walking... will the movie tickets still be kept intact?

But the most unfortunate thing happened.

I sprinted back there, and to my utter dismay and disbelief, the tickets were there no longer. There were Caucasians occupying the seats we were sitting on, and of course, they didn't see it. I randomly approached a cleaner, who, unfortunately, cannot understand English, let alone speak it. I had to converse in Chinese, which I am, shamefully, not that good at. Thankfully, he was the one who cleared our trays. However, he claimed that he didn't see any movie tickets. He pointed out the dustbin, and pulled out the trash bag, requesting me to dig for it. Without any hesitation, I dug and dug and dug. After all, all I wanted were the tickets, which in all, costed $50. They would all demand me to refund them their money if I do not manage to search for the tickets successfully.

I endured all the embarrassment. People looking at me, while some offered advice. Undoubtedly, I was the laughing stock. There were yucky fries, wet papers, unfinished burgers and pastry, and gross tomato and chilli sauces. Disgusting, but I still wouldn't give up hope. Then, Mitchell and the rest came, and offered a little bit of help. I then prayed for divine intervention, and there were some signs. The cleaner then returned and asked me to follow him to the rubbish dump. It was located at Basement 2. He emptied the trash bag, and allowed me to hunt for it. I withstood all the pungent stench, and finally gave up. Joshua called me, and I held the phone with the dirtiest of hands. I told him I'd return to the cinema. But before that, I washed my hands, and took 2 minutes to do so. I then told the cashier my plight. I even told him who had served me, the time I bought the tickets, and the seats we were allocated. How incredible! He then asked me to hold on.

And probably the most fortunate thing happened.

We were then told to proceeded straight to GV Max. And although we all had already missed more than 25 minutes of the show, we managed to catch the climax. The movie was good. I would not mind watching it again. A lot of crazy random stuff happened while we were our way home...

Today will probably never be forgotten, or at the very least, be remembered for the next few years to come. But it was a good experience anyway. Lesson learnt, and that is, not being so panicky when you're in a very tensed circumstamce when actually, you already have another way out. There are doors opened for you, but you are too stressed out to realise it. Just relax and stay composed for a bit, and you will eventually begin to focus on the right side of the situation, and thus, you might find your way out of these sticky situations.

enticing

Oh well, Federer had, just, failed in retaining the Hamburg trophy, but it was a good match...

Next up, the French Open! Hopefully, Nadal won't equal Bjorn Borg's record of 4 consecutive French Open titles. And will Ana Ivanovic finally be able to win her first Grand Slam? Her fellow country mate, Djokovic, won the Australian Open this year, after defeating Federer in the Semi-Final. Ivanovic was seeded 8th when I got to know her. Currently, she's seeded 3rd, and with Henin retiring, chances of being No. 1 is perpetually high. It has been her dream all along.

Gosh... all these tennis that's going on all around the world...

In Formula One, Ferrari have been dominating the Constructors' Chart. Over.

The two most powerful words that can excite anybody, has finally dawned upon us. Not the time to really celebrate yet. There are still the results to come, and I'm expecting to pass all subjects. Last year, it is proved that mugging can help. What will the outcome be, this year? Will history repeat itself? I am...waiting with bated breaths.

Subjects that I'm especially confident with are, English, Geography, History, Home Economics, Chemistry, Art and maybe Mathematics also. The others like Chinese, Biology and Literature are rather scary. Nonetheless, I'd to know all my results as soon as possible. All the anxiety...

Tonight. Survival Sunday. With £30 million at stake for the bottom three clubs besides Derby County (Birmingham City, Fulham and Reading), they have nothing to lose. And at the top, Manchester United will retain their title if they beat Wigan Athletic. Chelsea scoring 18 goals against Bolton is impossible. Good news for Ryan Giggs, he'd get his 10th Premiership medal and make his 758th appearance for United.

I guess I'm done for today, and it will be quite soon before I post again.

bona fide

Marred by the loss of something, the good stuffs that happened overshadowed it. Soccer was great today, with exception for the part where we were playing with the other upper-sec New Town students, a match in which they were dominating throughout.

As for the league, my team was showered with glory. In the knockout round, we thrashed the Foreigners 4-0, with braces from Chelston and I respectively. In the other match, Mitchell's team edged 1-0 over Munir's. Then came the eventful Final, where our team which consisted of Saru, Chelston, Jeff, Jong Fei, Darrel and I, won 2-1. The first goal was courtesy of a 4th minute penalty from myself, which I successfully converted. Then came a stunner from Mitchell in the last 3 minutes after his team caught us napping. We weren't concentrating at all as we thought we would have sealed the win and thus became complacent. Feeling dispirited and understandably dejected, we vowed to strive on, pushing forward. And guess what, a costly mistake from Benedict led to them conceding a crucial goal, virtually in the final seconds of injury time. Celebrations ensued, and the opposition were feeling otherwise, unsurprisingly.

After that, Noel came to my house. He kept himself occupied by spotting mistakes in a book that was related to the World War II. And indeed, there were.

To add on, Maths today was more then just satisfactory. A chance of an A1 seems probable now. Art tomorrow, and I'm only beginning my prep work, working on Serenity. Have to complete it by today. 2 hours. The big question now is, will I be 'burning the midnight oil', as I have been the previous weeks? Not good!

exams oh exams

Just 2 more to go...!

Exams really are a burden to me, but underestimating them only invite trouble. And at the end of the day, it comes down to knowing the results, be it dreadful or wonderful, I'd always be overwhelmed with pulse-racing, heart-pumping anxiety. Biology yesterday was frustrating, and time was a constant worry for me. The other papers were generally alright, except for Chinese. Hopes of getting an A1 for Maths are hanging in the balance (I'd be really happy too anyway), after those bullshit tests in Term 1. A sense of confidence was felt after Paper 1 was over, and I expect to maintain that momentum and be splashed full of hope when i sit for Paper 2 tomorrow. Relishing such an early school dismissal tomorrow really boosts my morale, which will be vital.

There are so many more things I feel like saying, after being on a hiatus for so long, but I cannot afford to waste anymore time. Revisions and revisions, well, that can't be helped. Time is of the essence! 'League Final' tomorrow, and I know, I have got nothing to lose!

world crazy

Hello again. Today was quite an alright day. In other words, there were no squabbles, nothing that made me emo, and everything was smooth.

Music lesson was amusing. 5 groups presented their spectacular presentations. Quite a lot of humour and drama...

The other lessons, were fine. Don't wish to elaborate. By 2.30pm, everybody were playing soccer. First match, we (us all) lost 2-1 to the SP people. Soon other matches came and go, till it reached the last one where my team thrash our opponents 9-4. I regained my form! Back to scoring goals again...

Nothing much happened since then. Here I am, blogging, and brushing up on my Traveller's IQ... please go try it! That is the number of days I didn't bother to post.

Let me talk about the past few days then...

Last Saturday, I competed in a Bowling Tournament, and came out runner-up in the 14-years category. Certainly not my best! I let slip numerous chances... After that, Jong Fei, Ramu, Yi Jun and I proceeded to Vivo for some light snacks. We proceeded home after that, and I accompanied Ramu in the MRT. Then, I slacked for an hour, before doing some Math homework.

Nothing much happened much on Sunday, except for the fact that I stayed up late to catch Manchester United edge past Arsenal 2-1. It was a terrific game, with quite a lot of controversy and drama. What could you possibly expect from such games?

On Monday, it was school as per normal. After school, Rita, Unice, Norman and I proceeded to Frolick, for some frozen yogurt, of course. Then, we moved on to Starbucks. Nobody actually purchased anything there except for Norman...

Tuesday, nothing much really happened also. Though it was the day Wigan drew 1-1 with Chelsea...

Received the Art Exam Paper today, and i know, I must begin to put in some effort for my art, start preparing the drafts and brainstorming the ideas...I, have to EXCEL in the upcoming MYE...i have got nothing to lose, but all to come out triumphant!

haha... I guess that was some sort of... self-inspiration? It's the inevitable truth anyway...

overcome with laziness

It's been 8 days since I last posted, in short, I was on a hiatus! And there can only be one reason and that is being just too lazy.

So many days have passed and obviously, I can't possibly recall everything that's happened. I shall anticipate on what will be coming in the next few days or weeks, and not reminisce...

Tomorrow, it's either Frolick (goes well with Subway apparently) or soccer-madness...
Wednesday, 2.4 Trial Run
Thursday, Geog Test! and Bowling with my fellow scouts
Friday, ACSI Gangshow~
Saturday and Sunday, Scouts Logistics Camp

Next Saturday, Clementi District Bowling Tournament

After these, the exams come next, and I will have to make up for the lacklustre marks collected during the CA1...OWNAGE TIME! or...not?

It's April's Fool tomorrow! haha... alright, I'll be off now, till the next time!

easter weekend

The three days had been quite wonderful. I had my 3rd bible study lesson and also attended a service on Friday and caught i-Ming; a drama whereby this person invents a device that allows you to recall all your memories be it good or bad...it was really touching and it pains too much to see Him nailed on the cross (my heart turned really uneasy and i almost felt like shedding tears); dying for our sins...

After everything, we all proceeded to Changi Airport T3 for dinner (or, more appropriately, night supper). How cool was that?! It was already 10pm then. I had loads of fun there, and i dont wish to elaborate. We all caught the last train and when i alighted at Clementi, realised that I didnt manage to catch the last 173 bus...my mom had to escort me home...

The next day 2 days were spent on the Exploration Camp. For the Sec 2's to pass a half of their Exploration(2), we need to act as a companion to a test candidate [Sec 3's who are taking their Exploration(3)]. On the first day, we, together with our supremely heavy bags, hiked from Queenstown Stadium located near Queenstown MRT, to West Coast McDonald's. We got pass through IKEA, Alexandra Hospital, PSA Building, Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre and through West Coast. Everything took 4 hours and 30 minutes, and we walked approximately 10km. We cooked our dinner using Bunsen Burners and played with fire...haha

Most of the people did not sleep at all while I managed to sleep for a rough 2 hours. It was said that they went to McDonald's for a 'small party'...

The next day, we hiked back to Queenstown Stadium via the MRT track all the way from Dover MRT and before that, NUS. We were all gossipping along the way, like how girls would prefer six-packs to muscular arms in boys...haha...

After the whole thing, I had to attend chinese tuition...haha

Alright, I shall end for now, till the next time!

morale boosters

hello again! havent been posting for six days, reasons being too lazy and having lots of homework (and projects) to handle...

today was...fine...school was okay...storytelling session was alright...but the soccer matches after school were more than just fantastic!

haha...before i move on to that, id like to recount on things that happened in school...

first period was Geography...its really really demoralising to noe that we are still a few weeks behind time...nonetheless, MISS tan had been the opposite of mdm rossenah...her lessons are so fascinating, people never dare to daydream...and its a good headstart to school on thursday also!

then came English, and we had to complete 5 compre qns, of which were a piece of cake...it was recess after that...

after recess was History...got to noe that there'll be a mock exam in school on a saturday
how...cool...is that? then came Chemistry, which was yet another usually humorous lesson, nothing much to say really...after that, was Maths! the test wasnt tough...but im sure to gain at least 70%...

we had to attend a storytelling session on The Little Prince, which lasted for two hours...our chinese teacher, ms luo (or even 'mr luo'), said that there'd be a pretty youthful lady doing the presentation, but what turned out was an old hag who's fat yet not good-looking! haha...was refraining from saying the word 'ugly'...however though, i can tell that shes a good public speaker...during the refreshments break, after having all my food, i actually escaped!

okay, on to soccer!

the first match was just a warm-up...then came the second match, where my team was thrashed 11-3...goodness

then came the Classic:

Real Madrid 5-7 Barcelona

The former consists of Fadli, Isaac, Chelston, Bao, Sarukkunan and Jeff
The latter consists of Yu Sim, Darrel, Jong Fei, Sarravvanan, Bahrath and Fazri

i opened the floodgates by scoring a goal before fazri completed a hat-trick (3 goals), and that gave us a 4-0 lead...soon enough, we got complacent, and conceded 5 goals in the process, which includes an inspirational stunner from chelston, and braces (2 goals) both from fadli and isaac, which gave them a 5-4 edge over us...20 minutes later, i scored a crucial goal which brought the match level, before adding yet another one, which dampened their spirits...then, an isaac mistake lead to me racing with the ball, then i spotted sara and passed, after that, he rammed it into the 'back of the net', which broke their hearts and finished the game...it was already 7.25 then...haha

we were all rushing to have a break...it wasnt soon before i left for home...

alright, i shall end for today, till the next time!

dynasty campfire

ATTENDED a Scouts Campfire at SJI this evening, titled Dynasty.

they had an Emperor the size of a five-year old boy, and a prince the size of a seven-year old boy. haha...how comical!

several Girl Guides also participated, including Raffles Girls, St. Margarets (they won the earlybird prize), CHIJ Toa Payoh, and S'pore Chinese Girls...and they all have a common niche, screaming, which to me, is the only thing they can do, and they do it all the time!

at the start of the event, we were required to walk through a gateway which seemed to take weeks to make, and collect a booklet.

the way they place their firewood is truly unique, and surrounding it is water...how cool isnt it? there were also four towers at every corner of the fireplace, of which, after it lights for a rough 2mins, explodes itself. thats...even cooler isnt it?? ...haha

on one of the programmes, we were required to get a black bag, Nike and Adidas socks, hairbands, clothes hangers, and today's newspaper. everyone scrambled on that part. i was so desperate, i even looked to car drivers at the car park, and succeeded! another prominent highlight is giving a tribute to the Emperor in the hope of making him happy. we immediately carried a boy there (which was our 'gift' to him), and put him right beneath his feet, and he, just laid there...it was only a rough 30 seconds later that he finally ran back. (and yes...im talking about you) ...there were many other fun activities we took part in, but i dont wish to name them all, quite simply because im too lazy too... =)

after the campfire had officially been closed, we gathered for some refreshments, and collect a goodie bag from Cocoa Trees, with chocolates inside (obviously). everyone loved it. after that, came the hilarious part...four boys with at least eight doughnuts in their hands, rushed to me, and without hesitation, squashed all of them inside my bag! i was super freaked out, but couldnt do anything...the doughnuts do look quite appetising anyway...they just happened to see my bag open i guess. well, they just wanted to clear everything, and i was telling myself i can either have a super-filling breakfast the next day, or i can open a shop...

a good effort put in, SJI Scouts...am looking forward to your Games Day!

oh, and one more thing, my haircut was awful! im almost bald...nothing i can do now...haha...at least, there was a fine equivalence of good and bad comments from people...

i think i shall end for today, goodnight people, or more appropriately, good morning!

a new era

HELLO ONCE AGAIN!

its been great having to realise that i actually managed to sign in to Blogger (which was the prominent reason why i havent been posting for a rough 100days)!

100 DAYS...so many things that can potentially be said, but yet i dont noe how...

one of the most unfortunate highlight is the receiving of our PPR for Term 1...its the worst Albert Park. once again, i was the secretary. that meant that i would record down every detail given, and not just that, think of ideas and such. nevermind, we did many things...the ambience was a key factor in ensuring that we had a smooth-sailing meeting. haha. whatever. and, it was the FIRST time i did a prayer. haha.

11.35am, and we ended our meeting. i walked around Cold Storage and bought a handful of tidbits. then, i proceeded to SP for soccer. i was the first to arrive there, and had to wait 25 minutes for the second one to arrive. at the mean time, i did countless warm-ups.

the whole soccer event had been rather fun. it was certainly great to be kicking a ball again. i thought that i would have lost some skills, but what turned out was that i possessed even more. haha. it was one of the best matches ive EVER played. allow me to be egoistic for a moment. i scored 10 over goals. and ALL of them weren't just spetacular, it was...shocking? it was seriously one of the best games ive played...

not everything was smooth-sailing (second time i've used this word), there were embarrassing moments too. there was a part whereby i was chasing for a ball in order for it not to enter the goal line, then, i FUMBLED butt-first. goodness me, it was 'PAINLESS'.

after we had lunch and everything, Darrel, Noel and I proceeded to JEC for some dessert at McDonald's. a pity Mitchell couldn't (or didn't) come. while walking there, i had a dilemma. Chocolate Milkshake or Mudpie McFlurry? we had decided that if the server was a male, i would get the former, and female, the latter. guess what!? there were both of them! gosh. after Noel had gotten his Milkshake, and Darrel his McFlurry, i was still left pondering...then came Noel to the rescue! he ASKED one of them, the female,"err...excuse me uhh, should that guy buy milkshake or mudpie mcflurry?" and giggled...

...

in the end, i got the latter, thanks to her opinion. haha. comical, but definitely not make-believe. to end our day, we gallavanted Popular. we browsed through a few books, which included Fighting Fantasy, and some other novels by Anthony Horowitz. by 8pm, we all had returned home.

i hope you guys have had a fine day...till the next time people, goodbye... =D

fruitful?

its the start of december! which means Christmas is approaching (in 24days)! oh well, time flies...

i had a scout meeting this morning. i was slightly late. in the first hour into the meeting, we discussed about some stuff, like the plans for next year, and the 'type of treatment' we are gonna give our future scout juniors. we are going to Pulau Ubin for a cycling activity again! its more than 5 years running already, and its gonna be a tradition. sadly, i will miss my senior scouts, they include the sec 4's and han kiat. i always remember them deep in my heart...

i will be a sec 2 next year! that means becoming models for our juniors. these give me the CHILLS...well, since my seniors have gone through all these, why can't we?

we proceeded to have breakfast at SP, then moved on to NUS High for the second part of the photography course. we had to complete a test, and finish a project before attaining the Photography proficiency badge.

then, we played soccer. something really bad happened to me, and nothing's gonna make me say it! uhh...

2.35pm, and a few of us proceeded back to NTSS...we attended a meeting, and left minutes after the meeting had started. that includes davin, leong wai and i. haha. funny reasons. went to have lunch with davin after that. who would have known 7 11 would've closed at 3pm? Joy and Jonathan (not excluding Ivan) were good entertainers for all of us. haha.

by 12.55pm, the meeting at the canteen had ended. while i was leaving, jonathan suddenly shouted," yu sim!!..." then when i turned back, he added," have fun at ice-skating!"

dots. i took the mrt with raymond, but he went the opposite way. i arrived at jurong east stn at 1.55, and met an lynn. while having lunch at LJS, people came. the 'great!' news was spreaded around. the ice-skating rink had to close at 3pm bcoz of a competition. and so, we went bowling at chevrons instead. we had SO MUCH fun there. people were chatting, playing with rubic cubes, 'fighting', and having snacks. my scores were, 89 and 133. haha.

Gerald told us this funny joke:

Why did the mushroom go to the party?

Because he is a fungi (fun guy).

Why did the mushroom go to the party again?

Because there are fungus (fun girls).

by 6.40pm, we all left for jurong east mrt. it was drizzling, but that didnt hamper our walking journey there. they had dinner while i went home.

Thursday:

woke up at 7am. i had to go for the final lesson on energy conservation at the Singapore Power building in Somerset (a Scout activity). our purpose there was to attain the Energy Conservation Badge at the end. i arrived there at 8.58am, which was almost late. after submitting our Home Audits (you don't require to noe what that is), we watched some videos on conserving electricity. after that, we took a test. the test's duration was one hour. BUT one nus high student. finished it in 5 MINUTES. i did it in 30minutes.

when we all have finished the test, we were allowed to leave. we left for Taka. we (Leong Wai, Hermann, Shi Hwee Wei Cai and I) walked there and proceeded to Kinokuniya for some book-browsing. we sort of made a fool of ourselves. and worse still, we were in FULL-scouts uniform.

then, they all had left, and i was the only one. i thought,"IM IN ORCHARD!! there are so many things i can do...right?" thus, i walked around Wisma (and admired their aquarium), bought a Mcd's milkshake (that actually lasted me 25minutes) near Tangs, window-shopped at Isetan and visited Lido. i gallavanted Borders (Wheelock Place) and then finally, to Popular@Orchard MRT. i went home after that. those people who saw me felt it was quite awkward to see a scout in town, but hey, who said scouts aren't allowed to visit these places? nonetheless, i had some fun.

alright, i have to go now. till the next time! =D

PS: i altered the date and time =P

cameron highlands

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137427236041576018" style="DISPLAY: block;

the trip to the highlands was a rewarding experience. on our way up the mountains, i had nausea, and my cousins all puked. yucks! we stayed at this tudor-styled hotel called The Lake House. i absolutely love their interior. it even has a painting of Mona Lisa! but of course! its not genuine.

the whole place was rather cool, with temperatures not exceeding 17 degress C. apparently, strawberries prosper at such climate and thus, strawberry farms are strewn almost at every corner of Cameron. we also visited the Boh tea plantation. they showed us how tea was produced and manufactured. we also visited various vegetable farms. the climax of the whole trip was going up to the summit of Mt. Berincang. the trip up the mountain was a bumpy and a treacherous ride. dont forget we were in a mini-van. that spelled more danger.

the trip from Singapore to Cameron was a rough 10hours, including lunch and breaks. i arrived back in SG at 11pm last night.

overall, the whole trip was a memorable and enjoyable one. sorry but i had to keep this post short bcoz im running out of time. goodbye, till the next time! =D

student leadership camp

FIRST DAY:

i was slightly late upon reporting time. to be precise, i was 9 minutes late. the reporting time was 1pm at the foyer. who was to blame? my discipline. i could have been later if i hadn't rush through my lunch.

i met up with my fellow classmates. then came my scout seniors. i was being jeered. pangseh here pangseh there...why did they do it? its coz i gave the Scouts' Annual Camp 2007 a miss. i had my reasons though, and they are SERIOUSLY VALID. haha. ask me if you wanna noe. ive already told a few people about it.

next, we assembled in the music room and the TOUCH staff introduced themselves. after that, we played a few ice-breakers in the form of 'reality' games. they inculde: The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, Survivor: All-Stars and finally, 'New Town's' Next Top Model. how creative of the seniors to have created such games for us.

coming up was a briefing, and then, a really cute game. the seniors 'stole' a few peoples' bags and we had to find them. not so easy though, there were obstacles. each station we pass, we collect a token. its three tokens for a key which we have to GUESS RIGHT before proceeding to hunt for our bags at certain places. the first game, a few of my group members were blindfolded and holding a LONG ruffian string. i have to give instructions to each of my members in order to form different shapes. NOT SIMPLE! it was really stressful. next game was entangling all of our hands together (we stood in a circle, and put out our hands. each person had both of their hands held by two other people) and finding ways to untangle them whilst not letting go of our hands. another creative game. then, the next game, we had to pass hoola hoops (first, there was one hoola hoop, then two, then five) from one end to another, whilst holding hands (again). three tokens collected. we rushed to the counter to select a key. sigh. we guessed our key wrongly. thus, we did another challenge. after we have collected our fourth token, we guess it RIGHT! yeah, then, we hunted for zoea's duffle bag.

back in the music room, we had a shower. the water was cold as always. I HATE IT! then, we had dinner. our first meal of the camp! had nasi briyani. the rose syrup tasted rather...disgusting...to me, that is. after that, we proceeded to the library for our first MAGIC LESSON. we learnt FOUR tricks. surely, you wont want me to name them all right?? SAY NO! next up was a short video of the GREAT david copperfield. his tricks were totally mesmerising. then, we had supper (pandan cake and jelly) and a little group discussion within our group before turning in. lights-off was midnight. i slept at 1+. our mentor was happily snoring away. and that definitely disrupted my sleep. and wth...at 5am, his phone's alarm rang. it was this weird song and it replayed again and again after a rough 15 seconds after the ringtone had ended. i couldnt do anything. i woke up at 6.30am. my damned roommates switched on the lights out of the blue.

SECOND DAY:

the start of a new day! and...my hair was in a mess. all my belongings were in a mess. took 15mins to tidy them up. haha. i occupied the biggest space among my other roommates. it was time for breakfast (bee hoon and milo). i slumped my way down, sloppily. the first thing i saw was people playing some bang bang game. after breakfast, it was magic again. this time, there were different stations around the school. we learnt another SIX. i found the rainbow rope most interesting. back in the music room, we were in for a short briefing. then, group leaders drew lots to see who will perform first. guess what. my group was the last!

lunchtime. we had nasi lemak. during our lunch, we discussed on how the performance will go about. i grabbed an apple and i took 25minutes to finish it. while we rehearsing for the last time, our mentor made a fool of himself. he skipped using a 1m rope. haha. how dumb is that? later, he claimed that it was intentional. by 1.05pm, we were watching the first performance. then, all the VIP's including the principal came in to watch. one hour later, we have all finished performing. we were all praised. after that, there was a short briefing on some leadership stuff. we learnt what C.O.M.P.A.S.S stood for. when it ended, we were given a task. build a structure which holds FIVE eggs, then dropping them down from the second floor and not cracking any of them. sounds scary, but the whole process was rather fun and interesting. we were given $800 worth of 'TOUCH dollars to spend on equipment. a sponge alone costs $400. that wasn't bought by anyone anyway. by 3.15pm, we were all done. and fifteen minutes later, every group have had their eggs dropped onto the first floor. my group had 2 eggs intact. the winning group was group 6, illusion. all of their eggs were intact. then, we all gathered for a group photo.

we proceeded back to the music room. we learnt more stuff whilst waiting for our seniors to get their things prepared. next up, was the mass games. water was involved and all of us changed into our dark-coloured clothes. then, we filled plastic bags with water. i filled two of them with COLD water from the water cooler. haha. im cunning wasnt i? after that, we were separated. groups 1, 2 and 3 were the attackers first, and 4, 5 and 6 the defenders. after the first round, it was our turn to be the attackers. the defenders had to run, crawl beneath tables, do some shuttle run, hop, and dodge water bags thrown by the attackers. on the other hand, the attackers just had to wait for the defenders to complete their obstacle course and hurl water bags. it was funny looking at the attackers 'bullying' the stronger people among the defenders, like syukri. when the first round, ended, it was our turn to be the defenders. guess what again. i DID NOT get wet! except for my legs. when the whole thing had ended, it was the teachers turn to hurl water bags at us. their stint wasnt very successful, as we thought that it would be the other way round.

shower time, and i didnt shower, so were my group members. dinner was some rice with chicken, and some weird 'papadum'. when dinner was over, we proceeded to the library to learn another THREE magic tricks. the cups and balls trick was the most fascinating. yet another intriguing lesson, but it was our last. then, it was TIME for NIGHT GAMES. walking in darkness and entering messy classrooms finding clues for our next destination proved to be difficult. one of the highlights of the camp, tricks and surprises awaited. i dont wish to elaborate on this one, coz it'll be really longggg.

back in the library, we were given a puzzle to solve. printed in black and white, it cant be any more dumber. despite given hints, we still couldnt guess it correctly, till now. by the time the night games have ended, it was time for supper, which was 'pizza' and milo. then, i showered. once again, the water was freezing cold. back into the classrooms, i messed my things up again. clothes scattered everywhere and towels too. slept at 1.30am. my roommates were busy playing with their PSP's...

5am. stupid ringtone. woke up. never returned to sleep again. and so were the others. i walked to the washroom and when i came back, i lied down and wonder...about some stuff(:

THIRD DAY:

yawn...i didnt sleep well. i packed my stuff and got ready to go downstairs for breakfast. it was hotdogs and hashbrown, plus milo. after doing some cleaning, we proceeded to the library for a rehearsal before performing at a neighbourhood centre for the elderly. our script was abandoned and nigel replaced it with an easy one. after a few words from nigel, and final practices from our group members, we were ready to set off! by 9.45am, we arrived at fei yue. we took a few group shots and made funny poses. by 10.05am, 30 elderly people were present. after ushering the elderly to their seats, we got ready to perform. once again, our group was the last. our performance was rather okay, despite some flaws. then, it was the master himself, nigel, who performed. his tricks were amazing. the audience were thrilled. it was so fulfilling to see those smiles and laughs from the elderly.

by 10.40am, it was interaction time. everything went alright. then came a part where i witnessed lynn make a terrible mistake. it was fazul to the rescue!! he strangely applauded, and the four or five elderly followed. it was the FUNNIEST part of the camp. i laughed my HEAD OFF. obviously, the tall guy, fazul, did that in order to hide the truth. gosh. at the same time, eugene also flunked a trick. then came nigel and his string of magic. the elderly could even see his hideous moves. how clever. they even argued, and begged that he teach them those particular tricks. what was their reason? they wanted to trick their grand children.

overall, the community service was wonderful, albeit a memorable one. i was offered to serve at another community centre today, but rejected coz i had to attend a energy conservation course, a scouts activity, at somerset. sigh. i had to wake up early in the morning. nevermind, back to the camp.

while we were in school waiting for the other group to arrive, we, including nigel, played this funny game with a few people. now, for those who want to learn, repeat after me. one smart fella, he feel smart. two smart fella. they feel smart. three smart fella. they feel smart together. SAY IT QUICKLY(:

after lunch, which was rice with veggies, complemented with an ice cream cone at the end, we proceeded to the music room. we welcomed a VIP, and he showed us a video of Lawrence, the master magician. he taught us certain things, like 'passing it on'. 1 person, helped 3 people, then the other 3 helped another 3, so on and so for. then, there was some final talk on leadership. minutes later, they showed us 2 lists showing the classes each person will be in charge of in next year's Sec One Orientation Camp. after that, we all, the student leaders, did a final huurah; doing the honky tomp stomp! "everybody sing a song doo dah doo dah"...

what a way to end the camp. haha. then, amos, the 'commandant' of this camp, realised that we have yet to complete a feedback and reflections form. yeah. thats about it(:

THE END...wow ^^ goodbye for now

PS: this post is definitely equivalent to 2 'normal' posts. as such, my policy hasn't been disobeyed yet.

im hysterical!

gosh...i forgot to blog yesterday...haha...im going to alter the date and time

i have nothing much to say either, not that i dont want to...

What's LOVE?
The most spectacular, indescribable ,deep euphoric feeling for someone.

Love is an incredibly powerful word. When you're in love, you always want to be together, and when you're not, you're thinking about being together because you need that person and without them your life is incomplete.

This love is unconditional affection with no limits or conditions: completely loving someone. It's when you trust the other with your life and when you would do anything for each other. When you love someone you want nothing more than for them to be truly happy no matter what it takes because that's how much you care about them and because their needs come before your own. You hide nothing of yourself and can tell the other anything because you know they accept you just the way you are and vice versa.

It's when they're the last thing you think about before you go to sleep and when they're the first thing you think of when you wake up, the feeling that warms your heart and leaves you overcome by a feeling of serenity. Love involves wanting to show your affection and/or devotion to each other. It's the smile on your face you get when you're thinking about them and miss them.

Love can make you do anything and sacrifice for what will be better in the end. Love is intense, and passionate. Everything seems brighter, happier and more wonderful when you're in love. If you find it, don't let it go.

One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life:
That word is love.

-Sophocles

well, i was bored...so i just copied the whole chunk from urban dictionary and put it here.

i didnt blog yesterday night when i supposed to (my one post/2 days policy!!) coz i was busy creating a FACEBOOK account!! its really COOL. for the link, go to my links tab and you find it at the bottom(: BUT, in order to view it, you gotta create one yourself. no worries. its hassle-free. DO CREATE ONE!!

bought a new wallet and sling bag...all of which were zinc-branded. i forgot one thing though, a watch. the watch im currently wearing is in a ruinous condition...

the leadership camp is tomorrow and i cant wait! gosh. all my stuff are scattered everywhere. how corrupted can it get??

alright, i gotta leave now, till the next time, folks!

goodbye!! =D

a final hurrah

soccer wasnt as fun as it was this tuesday. nonetheless, our time spent was worthwhile. 4 hours of 'everlasting fun' (haha, this is sheer crap). i dont wish to evaluate on it.

not long later, we had lunch and the food court was unbelievably packed. i missed their chicken cutlet rice. after that, which was about 45mins later, we hid in the shade at the grandstands for a moment before playing again. it was a funny game, with me on a goal rush.

3.15pm and we felt that it was time to leave. besides, the SP people needed that court. strangely, they left for somewhere else after we abandoned the court. well, weird people...

our next destination was JEC. we proceeded to the arcade for some games, and it was all a treat from darrel's primary schoolmate, darren. im really grateful to him. we had a small break at Kopitiam and it was darren's treat. then, mitchell and i moved on to the Jurong Regional Library. i felt real sleepy there, so sleepy, i even lied down on the floor and almost fell asleep. haha. i wouldnt have done that if it were somewhere else. we were both at the teen's section located at the 4th floor.

by the time it was 6.30, we were having a big dilemma on where we would have our dinner. cafe galilee, subway, kfc, ljs, mcds. in the end, we chose ljs, thanks to mitchell. and guess what, darren treated again! boy! i gotta do something. next, we carried on to our last destination. the arcade (again). we spent 40mins there before i had to leave in order to catch my shuttle bus at 8.10. i managed to get danish cookies for my youngest sister's 'year-end celebration' in her kindergarten. my mom was grateful for that.

i wonder what il do tomorrow...i cannot possibly go out, so il just hope for the better. for now, its goodbye.

what a hectic day...

hmm...how should i begin...okay...i woke up at 9.40am, when i was supposed to at 8.30 to get ready for soccer at SP. i cant blame anyone for that. when i checked my phone, i had MANY missed calls and messages. those who have called me must have heard my funny voicemail greeting. haha. they were all related to my presence for soccer today.

i was late. one hour late. but they didnt really bother. only 6 people turned up when me and noel (the latecomers) were there. we had a little break and after that, we proceeded to the other soccer court near the soccer field. we played two matches between ourselves. then, the SP people came, the same old people we met last friday. the match we played was the MOST MEMORABLE ever. the match ended 7-6. haha. we rallied from 5-2 behind but still, they managed to score the last-gasp goal, albeit a real LUCKY one. uhh. and and, i think i did pretty well in that game! the match lasted more than 2 hours, with 40 over mins worth of break. when the game ended, we shaked their hands. it was the tightest match ive ever played in months.

it was already 3.35 when i arrived back home. i had only 15 mins to shower and prepare. i arranged to meet many boys along the way. we arrived at vivo at 4.55, and wasted time at candy empire waiting for other people. next, we met at GV and bought the tickets, then separated. we had quite some fun at the children's park. then the boys went to LJS to have dinner. they were all joking about how RED my face was. hahaha. the girls went to ben and jerry's. haha...dessert for dinner, how cool is that?

unfortunately, ms chong couldnt make it. she missed all of our desperate phone calls. she was probably more than just extremely busy.

we then proceeded to GVmax to catch bee movie. it was a brilliant show, but not as entertaining as ratatouille. many things happened. glen threw lots of popcorn onto the ground and hurled popcorn everywhere. well, he was the main culprit. other than those, many many more things happened... =D

the movie wasnt long. we spent some time at candy empire as we didnt noe what our next destination would be. i bought this really appealing pack of cookies and they tasted AWESOME. next, we took the mrt home. glen and us had decided to go to cold rock for some ice cream. in the end, we didnt. why? glen said he just wanted to go straight home. ==

mitchell, noel, de xun and i carried on to jec for some ice cream and milkshake. we joked around, including some sick stuff (serious!). i couldnt control my giggles. by 9.50, mitchell and i proceeded back home after that, via mrt.

overall, i had a fine day. and im sure everyone else have had theirs also(:

utter frustration, or is it?

nothing much happened today, except for attending my FINAL chinese lesson for tuition this year, getting a few things not school-related from popular and having a quick haircut. as such, im gonna talk about yesterday night. as usual, i was online talking to the same people in the likes of zoey, mitchell and cassie, and doing some silly stuff like comparing different sony ericsson phones in the website.

by midnight, they all have gone offline. and apparently, my whole family except me were asleep. i went out to watch west ham thrash derby county 5-0. == it was a one-sided game as derby was TOTALLY outplayed. one thing about them, they have NO class AT ALL. i guess everyone agrees unless they are insane or retarded or crazy or dumb or whatever. oops, i didnt mean to insult anyone =P

oh well, after the match had ended, i watched fear factor: mother and son. it was thrilling, but i dont wish to evaluate on what i saw. then, after a while later, i tuned back to football channel and watched liverpool face fulham. boring. i switched it off, and returned to my room. (then came the unpleasant thing)

the next thing i knew, the laptop's monitor hanged, and the pad malfunctioned. i was like,"WTH!? its vista!!" well, it was probably over-heated on the bottom. i got furious and ctrl-alt-delete several times. then i tried inserting a usb port, inserting my mouse, and slotting my FIFA 08, all to no avail. i slammed it closed, but i could still hear the fan noise, so i opened it again. still the same thing. uhh. i closed it, and prayed (i just prayed) that it will function again. i prepared my bed and stuff and went to open the damn thing again. STILL THE SAME THING. gosh. i gave up. i switched off all lights and lied still on the bed. the whole monitor problem occupied my whole mind. not long later, i discovered that there wasnt any fan noise anymore. i realised that a MIRACLE had just happened. i opened and the screen was blank. Thank God. the laptop was finally swicthed off! what a pleasant surprise. thus, i switched it on again and everything returned to normal except for a note which said that it wasnt shut down properly. i went back to bed before long. it was already 2.45am...

im looking forward to soccer on tuesday (attendance will shoot up like crazy) and the MUCH-ANTICIPATED 1/4 CLASS OUTING~(my foot)...but seriously...i hope it'll be a really successful one. and i certainly wish Ms Chong will keep up to her word.

wow, didnt noe ive already written this long. so, farewell everyone(:

sunburnt

if only i had planned the friendlies and informed the other people earlier...only 6 people including me managed to turn up for today's soccer. all the smses sent have gone to waste. uhh. as chelston have repeated time and time again,"organiser come the latest some more," it just made things worse. but i was a tad lucky that i could go, my 'ahma' explained that the weather was really hot (if only i had followed her), but since ive already missed the previous meeting bcoz of rain, i noe i got to go for this. besides, i was the one who organised this. id be made a laughing stock if i dont turn up.

the weather was FRIGGIN' HOT, so hot, you could literally fry your egg on the ground. hahaha. seriously though, the soccer courts were searing hot, and i ended up being slightly sunburnt. good thing is, UV rays contain vitamin d. hehe, whatever. we had great fun ramming the ball here and there, and scoring spectacular goals. we also played with the SP people. the first match, we won 3-2 thanks to a deflected shot. then came the second one. we were thrashed 3-0. i dont wish to talk about it coz i missed BILLIONS of chances, including a one-on-one. then, we got exhausted and decided to proceed to kfc to have a short break. after that, we moved on to the other soccer court that's located near the food court. blah blah blah. we then sat down and did nonsensical stuff. we initiated a farewell match for munir as it was his last time we are going to see him until next year, but he refused. the reason? "CANNOT LAH! TOO TIRED!"

at about 5.30, we headed home. overall, i had a FINE day today, and i hope everyone have had a GOOD day also. =D

vivo, vivo, and more VIVO!

why must it be vivo city all the time? why not other places like plaza sing, marina square, or orchard? oh well...

norman and i watched The Game Plan today. it was amazing, definitely one of my favourites of the year...id recommend this movie for all who are spoilt for choices(: we two sat on the front row(we had no choice as the tix were selling fast), and realising that the third row had two spaces, which was just right, we moved. then, norman had to go and i stumbled upon glen and unice. we went to ben and jerry's and had a few scoops. then we proceeded to the amphitheatre which was located at the so-called skygarden and played 'spot the thing'. haha...after that, we took the mrt home.

these days have been rather boring. literally wasting my life away at home. if only we ALL can go out for movies EVERYDAY. haha...nah, just kidding. we'd go broke.

im looking forward to the class outing next tuesday, and i hope ms chong could come. well, we all hope so, because...she still OWE US A TREAT she promised!
